From today two far-reaching changes in the ESL Gather system will be made. The most exciting change is we have removed the 20 gathers per week limit for non premium members! As a result of this change we have tightened the rating system so misbehaving players will be excluded more rapidly.

Last week we saw the first Instant Fall Cup of this season. We keep on hosting them and are proud to announce the next incarnation of our Cup series. This time we will see two different cups, means we will host one 6on6 and one 1on1 Cup in one week. Our last cup gave us the following result:

The highest league in national eSports, the ESL Pro Series, will start in Poland! Counter-Strike 1.6 and America's Army are the games of the Polish ESL Pro Series. The best teams in Poland will play against each other and 40,000 PLN (about 12,000 Euro) prize money. The ESL Pro Series will start in October 2008 and will end with spectacular offline finals in February 2009.

For over a year we have been rewarding players and teams for playing the most matches on the ESL in their favourite games in our monthly Most Matches Competitions (MMC) in the German section. Starting next month we will also have the MMC here in the European section!

For some time the statistics in the player profiles have been updated no more. Unfortunately, we have missed to inform you about the current status of this problem. Now we want to catch up with the information regarding the missing updates in the gather statistics.

Almost three years ago we published a first beta of ESL Aequitas, our own anti-cheat tool for the Electronic Sports League. Three years, many improvements and reams of convicted cheaters later we officially break the beta phase up and launch ESL Aequitas 1.0.

We proudly announce that ESL is finally launching an ESL Pro Series in Scandinavia! 24,000€ is up for grabs and the first season will have a Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne competition. 10 teams and players will fight it out in each competition for the title of the first sca EPS champion.

The Instant Rifle Cup took place last Sunday and again proved to be a nice variety compared to the normal ladder matches.
