New Seasons always start with some Qualifiers to decide who belong with the best and who should get used to a spot among the rest.

Here we go to start the Season with the final Groups and important Information.

This news includes the direct invites, qualifier matches and five open divisions for the upcoming Day of Defeat: Source Autumn 2008 Season. The Invite Divison will feature twelve teams, with six direct invites and twelve teams having the chance to qualify. The six qualifier matches have to be played between Sunday, 5th October 2008 and Tuesday, 7th October 2008. They will be played 4x15 with each team chosing one map out of the playoffs-mappool.

While many teams already signed up for the upcoming Season we worked on updating the Rules section and the Serverconfig.

As announced earlier signups for the ESL DoD:S tournaments are now open. You can signup until the 27th of September for the Day of Defeat: Source 6on6 Autumn 2008 Season. The best 12 teams will be invited to the Day of Defeat: Source Autumn 2008 Invite League.

Welcome to the new Day of Defeat: Source Fall Season 2008. We are proud to present you the three major tournaments of the european competitive scene. The signups for the first event will open at this Sunday, the 6th September. We will release the full mapcycle, updated rules and configs together with useful tutorials for all those who are not familiar yet with the ESL website and system. Pictures and texts in different languages will explain how to create a team and where to signup and contain every important information you need to have a great season here.

Yesterday the fourth Weekend Cup in 2008 took place and again we saw tense action and lucky winners! So please give kudos to the winners of this episode!

A short while ago, the playoffs of this year's SummerCups have been finished. So it is now time to give appreciation to the winners! It seems rather ridiculous, but in this season the french teams dominated the cup like never before. Have a look by yourself:

August is going to be a hot month, but not only when you go out through your door, but in the Day of Defeat:Source section of the ESL as well. The 6on6 Summer Cup is over and as most teams are now on vacation it is time to switch over to 1on1 and small teams. Throughout August, we will host three! 1on1 Cups and a 2on2 and 3on3 Summer Cup. The first one will happen on the upcoming Sunday, so hurry up and get ready to rumble!

The freely available development and publishing software package allows for popular features in Team Fortress 2 and Audiosurf to be carried over to the popular World War II online action game from Valve.

For the year 2008, we have planned a series of Weekend Cups all over the year. There will be 5 cups and an additional cup at the end of the year which will be played among the winners of the previous cups. The first cup will take place on the next weekend and signups are now open.

The Weekend Cup #1 will be rescheduled to the next weekend because only a few teams signed up for the cup. More infos will follow in the next days.

We have added the new map ESL_Arena to the 1on1 Ladder. The map has been mapped by Silver. Additionally, we have added a second new map called elch_sniperroom to the mappool of the Sniper Ladder and it has been created by RiZzO. We hope you will have a lot of fun with new maps. Additionally we must remove another map from the 6on6 Ladder. The map dod_santos_b1 contains a picture of Hitler, so we are forced to remove it.

The Day of Defeat: Source 2on2 New Year NightCup is over. After an initial delay of one hour caused by an ESL page downtime, the fifteen teams started to play. At 00:34 the winning team stood firm. Rommel and vic of Zwei Alte Haudegen. Congratulation guys.

We have removed the map dod_fireshorts_b1 from the 3on3 ladder mappool because you can see a swastika when taking a look at the overview of the map. As this has irritated some users, we removed the map from the pool.

Lots of you have asked for changes in the mappool of our Day of Defeat:Source Ladders and now, after a long time of waiting we have updated the mappools of the 1on1, 2on2, 3on3 and 6on6 ladder. As most standard maps are not suitable for league matches we have added a bunch of well known custom maps. We wish you a lot of fun with the new maps and many fair and exciting matches.
