The Battlefield 2 Nations Championship 2008 has reached it's end. The teams have played fantastic matches during the playoffs with some unexpected events and we are proud to announce the winners!

Over the past week there have been severe discussions and reactions regarding the no-show win by Germany in the BF2 Infantry Nations Championship 2008 Playoffs. We will refrain from personal opinions but would like to give an explenation and motivate our decision.

After multiple requests and interest it's time to run some nightcups. For the second nightcup we've again chosen 4on4 Infantry FBF. This cup will be held at Tuesday 07/10/2008 and the first match will start at 19.30.

Because some ladders were inactive, a few have been removed and one new ladder has been added after multiple requests: A heli 1on1 ladder!

The group stages of the ESL Battlefield 2 Nations Championships are now complete, and we can now bring you all the information required for the knockout stages.

Today we have the first matchday of the Battlefield 2 Nations Championship Infantry tournament. To give everyone an idea of how the Nations Championship is kicking of, prediction gaming will stream our first infantry match, Switzerland vs Austria, on their website.

Because the results of the poll were very closely together we have decided not to make any changes to the current rule. Also keep in mind that the poll was not for you to decide wheter we'd change it or not but for us as indication.

To have the presentation of the teams during this Nations Championship optimalized, all teams have been renamed to the country name only, followed by - BF2 as extension. It is not allowed to change this names! Groups will be announced probably end of this week.

The ESL BF2 EU Winter Cups have, with some delay, finally come to an end. We can now look back on yet some more nice cups. The winners are...

After many requests from the community we've decided to bring yet another event to the ESL Battlefield 2 Community, this time in the shape of the ESL Battlefield 2 Nations Championship 2008.

With some huge events planned for this summer we've decided to move on to a new streaming partner, in order to assure that our leagues are as cheater-free as possible.

After multiple requests and interest it's time to run some nightcups. For the first nightcup we've chosen 4on4 Infantry FBF. This cup will be held at Friday 23/05/2008 and the first match will start at 19.30.

After multiple requests and a load of positive support on the european and german forums the Battlefield 2 1on1 Infantry ladder has been opened!

Now the group part of the cup is over, the two best teams of each group have been placed into the BF2 Winter Cup Finals. But before you start, here's some more information.

Electronic Arts just anounced the next game in the battlefield series, Battlefield Heroes. This cartoon-like game is also being developed by DICE and will be free to download in the summer of 2008.

Due to the fact that we didn't anticpiate the hostility to the move to GV, we have put up a poll for users to vote as to which they would prefer.

To make sure all matches in the ESL ladders are fair screenshots are required. With these screenshots it’s clear for everyone that the match has been actually played and they can mean a lot when you are protesting against your opponent due to match disputes, furthermore Non-existent screenshots can lead to the assumption of a so-called “fake match”, a match that never took place.

As the Winter cups have started, it's time to give you details of the rules for the cup!

The Infantry 2on2 & 5on5 Winter Cups will be played Flag by Flag so we bring a recap of the rules

For a long while now, since the 10th of March, all matches in the EU BF2 section must take place on a gameserver streaming Punksbusted. Due to the fact that many people are not aware of this or don’t even know what Punksbusted it, a little reminder!

It's starting to get cold, the days are getting shorter, and santas coming soon... So guess what the means?

The Battlefield series has built strong history in gaming since the release of the first game - Battlefield 1942 - five years ago up to the latest in the series Battlefield 2142. At the moment the most popular Battlefield ladder on the ESL is Battlefield 2's Infantry ladder.
