An important new specific rule regarding the use of mods in Star Wars Battlefront in the ESL has been created.

The community has finally gathered enough former 1.0 players and teams to be able to start a cup with their own specific rulework. It will start at 21.11.2008so make sure you have signed up until then! Two matches per week are scheduled and their dates can be moved +-3 days if both sides agree.

The most active teams will be rewarded with premium memberships for their enthusiasm!

Today an instant challenger function has been generated for our 1on1 Ladders in both Star Wars Battlefront I and II. With this innovation we hope to improve the process of match searching! Some of you might already know it from other sections like "ICQ Pool" or "Call Of Duty 4" where it has served successfully for a long time.

A lot of penalty points have been assigned in the past for the early leaving of matches. From now on we will distinguish between two special cases of early match stops to make it possible for weaker teams and players to legally give up in honour.

As we already stated in the news of the 03.07.2008 there are now (besides the standard root servers) also weaker root servers and gameservers of certain sources (for example 4netplayers) allowed for usage within the ESL ladders of Star Wars Battlefront I and II.

It is finally there: The "Star Wars Battlefront I - 1on1 Ladder"! After a lot of successfull temporary cups the concept finally got officially adapted and transformed into an alltime ladder.

A new, better and updated "ESL 2on2 Ladder Server Tool" has been released. It will enable more balanced and fair gameplay on a lot of maps and make the teams focus a bit more on kills.

We have a new admin in the area of Star Wars Battlefront.

From now on you can open custom gathers to play funmatches or training sessions within the ESL. All your played gathers will count to your SWBF1 ESL Level! And remember, anyone can open gathers just as he likes.

A private forum section for leaders of SWBF1 clans has been created in order to enable reasonable discussions and suggestions regarding the ESL and Star Wars Battlefront. This forum will be accessible by invite by an admin only.

We want you to observe following news:

We are currently reorganizing the old SWBF1 Xfire Guild. The aim is to build up an efficient communication network for the community and ESL matches. Any ESL SWBF1 player that owns an Xfire account may sign up!

Parallel to the organization of the purely German States Cup we would like to prepare a cup that involves all nations to promote the international status of our section within the ESL. Every Country will be treated equally in this competition as I will explain in detail.

But there have not only been removals of maps, we also added one map and patched another. The main aim was to reduce the amount of huge and buggy maps, answering on the complaints by the community. We expect more activity now.

We will assign one volunteer per team responsible of gathering all available players. Later, once the teams are filled, the players will vote on a team captain that will later organize the structure of the team including the team permissions. Until these leaders are elected, I will be capable of the teams myself. Once everything is prepared I will of course hand over the permissions and leave the teams.

Same procedure as everytime with one little difference: If a player doesn't turn up for the first round, this will not only result in a defwin for his opponent but there will also be a punishment of 2 penalty points for the noshow. This counts for the first round only! Secondly signed up players that know in advance that they can't turn up can't decide about who will get their spot in the cup.

The 1on1 Fast Cups will be held during the week mostly to not interfere with Ladder matches and greater cups. They will be from 8-16 participants and in single elimination mode (no loser brackets). The seeding will be chosen among members of the 3on3+ and 2on2 Ladder to increase the activity.

Although the Cup was planned for 2 days, Friday the 4. and Saturday the 5. of July it took 4 days of fighting until the Final was played. It seems as if most players enjoyed this new form of competition so there will certainly be more 1on1 cups in the future.

This is the first of a couple of different cups in Star Wars Battlefront in this summer.

The internal rules in the ESL declare that the language has to be english. Everyone has to keep this in mind.

A precise definition of wallhacking has been assigned in order to prevent future discussions about bugs in the game such as the Hoth Discussion in the Forums.

Today the rules of the 2on2, 3on3+ and 5on5+ ladders have been updated. There are no actual changes but more technical information has been added aswell as couple of very important download links.

In fact of some changes (english as main language) combined with the adjustment of the SWBF I + II Ladder from DE into EU we decided to expanse our Adminteam with a moderator.
